Chopper Spins Wildly into Palm Groves at Well-Known Southern California Coast
An aircraft soaring over a crowded southern California beach suddenly started spinning out of control, eventually losing altitude and plunging into a cluster of palm fronds as onlookers observed.
Videos uploaded online depict the aircraft starting to spin over Huntington Beach then plunging towards the border of the shore, where it becomes wedged among palms and a staircase close to the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Update
Emergency responders reported five persons were rushed to the hospital comprising two who were in the chopper and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” subsequent to the accident on that day.
Three persons on the street were hurt. Information on their injuries were still under review.
The reason for the accident was still under investigation.
Planned Function
The department indicated the helicopter was associated with an regular “Cars and Copters” charity gathering scheduled for Sunday.
