The world's beloved pizza-eating superheroes are making their way to Magic: The Gathering. The popular TCG's company, the game's creators, announced a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion at a exclusive panel hosted at NYCC. Could this be a exciting addition or simply another Universes Beyond marketing move? Let you be the judge.

Check out below at everything announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, along with some useful background. Everything listed here launches on March 6th, 2026, with one exception — a special Pizza Bundle arrives a couple of weeks after on March 27.

MTG x TMNT: Main Set Reveals

Before diving into all the various special decks and bundles on offer, let’s take a look at all the cards from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set that were revealed by the developers. Play boosters for the set are set at $6.99 per pack, while premium boosters should run $37.99 per booster.

Let's unpack a few surprising features. To begin, a new gameplay mechanic called Sneak Attack, inspired by the pre-existing Ninjutsu, where players can play powerful creatures into the game field whenever an attacker goes unblocked. The key change here is that this new ability can apply to non-creature spells as well. Wizards also used this chance to refine the ability a bit (It is treated as playing a spell, as opposed to Ninjutsu). The original ability is staying, but chances are players will encounter Sneak in upcoming expansions from now on.

“If we ever go back to Kamigawa, it’s possible we’d use Ninjutsu because that's where it originated and it’s a hallmark of that world,” an experienced designer explained. “However in other settings, because the mechanics are smoother and the new ability is what's going to be in standard, it's more likely we’ll use Sneak.”

That second variant of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai card, is among four special cards with special art designed specifically for the set by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles original artist Kevin Eastman.

Additionally, if you're shocked by the card text on Turtles Forever card, which allows playing game cards that aren't in your deck, many players were. But according to the developers, it’s now a official card in all formats of Magic.

In any case, below are the extremely bizarre land cards with full art from the TMNT set:

As per the company’s existing guidelines, all these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard format. The designers state they were careful to ensure the new cards and gameplay elements worked smoothly with current Standard expansions such as Edge of Eternities.

“I led the development for over a year and we were aware it would be Standard-legal and which sets were going to be near it in standard,” the designer says. “Our goal was to ensure that they work well with certain expansions like Edge of Eternities.”

For example, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a blue-red archetype built around artifact cards.

“They mesh together to offer the pieces for a enjoyable Standard-legal deck,” the designer added.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power

Following a decision to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for the Spider-Man set and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, the company is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just a single precon, but it includes six distinct legendary creatures that can serve as your Commander depending on how you combine them (five of the cards have a special partner ability called “Character Select” that allows starting with two of them in the command area rather than just one). Check them out below:

The Turtle Power deck is set at $69.99, although the price may rise based on demand. Sources indicated that it contains 43 new cards altogether, which means an additional thirty-seven Turtle-themed game cards besides the six legendary commanders pictured earlier. (Calculating roughly, this suggests about 20 reprints if we assume the precon comes with 37 land cards.)

What will the TMNT edition of Sol Ring look like? Fans must wait and find out.

TMNT Bundle (Standard Edition)

As per usual, the company is selling a bundle. It is priced at $69.99 and contains the following:

  • 9 Play Boosters
  • 15 Traditional foil basic lands
  • 15 Regular land cards
  • Two helper cards
  • One Foil promo card
  • 1 Large life tracker
  • One storage box

Pizza Bundle

This is a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, primarily because it is packaged in what looks like a pizza box. Every pizza-themed bundle is priced at $99.99 and comes with the following:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • One Collector Booster
  • Twenty-five Non-foil pizza lands
  • 5 Traditional foil pizza basic lands
  • Two Foil pizza bundle promotional cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • One Large life tracker
  • One storage box

If you’re wondering what a “pizza bundle promo” means, it’s basically a reprinted older card with brand-new TMNT artwork. The team showed an example for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual depicting master Splinter adding black licorice pieces on a pizza. There are six distinct pizza promos available.

This special bundle releases a couple of weeks later than the core set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This unique product is made for a four-person draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:

  • 12 Standard Boosters (ideal for four people to play draft)
  • 1 Collector Booster (also known as, the reward for coming in first)
  • 90 Non-foil land cards (for building your deck)
  • 10 Non-foil double-sided tokens
  • One drafting guide (a single-page guide to drafting this expansion)

Turtle Team-Up

Finally, Wizards are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its ongoing effort to create Magic products aimed at beginners. Here, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of prebuilt decks that allow two players team up to face a “Boss” deck that pilots itself.

The general idea here that every Boss card grants unique powers to the creature cards contained in the Boss deck. The Boss automatically casts one other card each turn, and you’ll start off battling {one Boss|
